Smartphone giant Samsung is all set to bring cryptocurrency and blockchain-related features to its Galaxy smartphones. This functionality is already available on Samsung S10, and the introduction of these functionalities to their budget phones shows the increasing adoption of cryptocurrencies.
First reported by South Korean news outlet Business Korea, Samsung also plans to cooperate with telecom companies in blockchain-based mobile identification cards (digital identity authentication) and local currencies.
Samsung had equipped the Galaxy S10 with a feature to store private keys and a cryptocurrency wallet that supports payments and money transfers. Samsung is also reportedly working on a new blockchain based on Ethereum and developing its own cryptocurrency called Samsung Coin.
