Coincheck Ties Up with Japanese Gas Companies to Facilitate Bitcoin Adoption

Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, Coincheck has announced that it has entered into a partnership with a few gas companies to enable Japanese citizens to pay their bills in cryptocurrencies.

A press release published by Coincheck’s parent group, Monex stated that the  customers in the Tokyo Gas Jurisdiction (Tokyo area) will be offered two plans, including Bitcoin Rewards Plan, in which customers receive Bitcoin depending on the amount of gas usage, and Bitcoin Payment Plan, in which they pay gas bills with Bitcoin.

The press release added that the cryptocurrency exchange has introduced “Coincheck Electricity” that allows customers to receive and use Bitcoin for their electricity bill payment. Coincheck is also offering services that allow customers to exchange cryptocurrencies with points offered by Monex, Inc. and Macromill, Inc. Many customers have started using the services.

How this goes will be thus- In an effort to incentivize customers, every month 3% of the gas bill will be accumulated in the customers’ Coincheck Wallet. Not just that, but customers paying their bills in bitcoin will have a chance to have their bills discounted by 3%.
