Supreme Court adjourns crypto case, but rules that Aadhaar is not mandatory for bank accounts and mobile numbers

The cryptocurrency case may not have got a hearing in the Supreme Court today, but India’s Apex court laid out its judgement in an equally important matter today. The Supreme Court upheld the Aadhaar Act, but gave some important riders to go along with it. Aadhaar card is now  mandatory only for PAN card and IT returns. However, Aadhaar will now not be mandatory for bank accounts, mobile numbers and school admissions and access to other government services. We think that the decision was a very balanced one, which has taken all the angles into consideration. We will bring you more details about the cryptocurrency case soon!
