Rajya Sabha MP and BJP member Rajeev Chandrasekhar recently appeared on an episode of Charlie Shrem’s Untold Stories podcast. The politician was quite open to talking about cryptocurrencies and fielded questions on various aspects of cryptocurrencies right from the technology itself, RBI’s banking ban, the Supreme Court Case and the Indian government’s regulatory approach.
On en encouraging note, Rajeev stated that there is room for policies to evolve in the public policy space and be inclusive of innovation while addressing privacy and security concerns of the regulators. He also said that India is a vibrant democracy which offers everyone a chance to discuss, narrate and debate an alternate viewpoint.
Rajeev has aksed the Indian crypto community members to reach out to him and discuss their concerns. He also added that he is open to articulate their positions in front of the government and persuade them to make the right choice. These words will sound like music to the Indian crypto community who has been struggling to make their voices heard after the official cryptocurrency committee recommended a blanket ban on cryptocurrencies.
Besides being an MP, Rajeev has an active background in technology having worked for Intel in the US. He had founded BPL Mobile in 1994 becoming one of the early pioneers of the telecoms industry in India.
